Gel Titanium Regulator

Product Attribute

Gel titanium regulator is used on iron, steel and zinc as well as their alloying metals to change microstate of surfaces of the metal workpieces. In a short period of time and under relative low temperature condition, gel Ti can absorb and form large amount of crystallization nucleus phosphating growing points on the workpiece surface to make workpiece surface activity uniformly distributed. It is mainly used to deal with film coursing and remove defects like corrosion maldistribution caused by strong basicity derosination of metal workpieces or strong acidic derusting. It can also help enhance phosphating speed and cut processing time so that phosphate film with extremely dense and uniformly distributed crystallization can be produced during phosphating of the metal workpiece. At the same time, it can help enhance corrosion resisting property, and adhesive force of the film as well as reduce phosphating sediment. Especially, it is used in the occasions during processing before phosphating which has relative high requirements on electrophoretic painting or when the workpiece goes through acid pickling or there is large handling capacity.


Product Introduction

Gel titanium regulator of our company adopts Taiwan formula. Imported materials are used and it is produced by professionals from Taiwan. Quality of the product can be more stable. It is a kind of white fine powdery Ti active agent. The main ingredients include titanium salt, additive which can keep activity of Ti group in the solution, pH buffer agent and water quality regulator etc.

Medicament in use: gel titanium regulator

Product packaging: 20Kg/case (inner packing: 2Kg*10 bags)

         

Usage:

1. Add clear water in the processing slot to 80% full.

2. Add 2 Kg of gel titanium regulator to 80% full slot solution slowly. Stir it and it will dissolve. Do not add all the regulators at one time to avoid generation of blocking caused by fast water absorption.

3. Add clear water to 1000L, the full dose.

Usage Management:

1. Range of utilization: free alkalinity (FAL): 0.15~0.5 point;

total alkalinity (TAL): 1.3~3.5 point;

                pH value: 8~10.5 (maximum activity: 8.5~9.5).

3. Addictive amount in the first time 0.2% (calculate in 1000L): add 2 Kg of gel titanium regulator.

4. Supplement (calculate in 1000L): capacity of the slot in use (ton)* 13.3 (FAL normal concentration–FAL measured concentration) = supplementary amount Kg.

5. Processing temperature: normal temperature ~50℃.

6. Processing time: 20~60 seconds for immersing or spraying and 2~5 seconds for zinc processing.

7. Atomization pressure: 0.8~1.5kg/m2.

Test Appliance and Measuring Methods:

1. Test reagent: phenolphthalein indicator, bromophenol blue indicator and 0.1 equivalent diluted hydrochloric acid standard solution;

2. Test appliance: 10ml suction tube, 250ml beaker, 250ml triangular flask and 50ml burette;

3. FAL measuring method: use suction tube to suck up 10ml of conditioning fluid and put it in the triangular flask. Add 3~5 drops of phenolphthalein indicator. Use 0.1 equivalent diluted hydrochloric acid standard solution to carry out titration. During titration, when the indicative color changes from pink to colorless, the titration end point is reached. At this time, ml amount of 0.1 equivalent diluted hydrochloric acid standard solution consumed is the point value of FAL;

4. TAL measuring method: use suction tube to suck up 10ml of conditioning fluid and put it in the triangular flask. Add 3~5 drops of bromophenol blue indicator. Use 0.1 equivalent diluted hydrochloric acid standard solution to carry out titration. During titration, when the indicative color changes from blue to yellow, the titration end point is reached. At this time, ml amount of 0.1 equivalent diluted hydrochloric acid standard solution consumed is the point value of TAL;

5. Use pH meter to measure the pH value.

Aging and Replacing of Conditioning fluid

After long-time utilization of working conditioning fluid, aging status will be generated. If pH value is lower than 7.0 or FAL / TAL≦0.01, it shows that it is aging. Under this condition, even if you add gel titanium regulator, its effect cannot reach the expected purpose. At this time, the conditioning fluid must be abandoned and replaced.

 

Notes and Storage:

1. The working slot fluid is alkalescence substance. When you use it, do not contact it directly with eyes, skin and clothes etc. During operation, please wear protective devices. If it enters the eyes, please use clear water to wash the eye for 15 minutes immediately and then go to the capital.

2. You’d better use tap water. During workpiece processing, keep good stir status for the conditioning fluid in order to make gel titanium regulator play the best effect.

3. Under the particular circumstance of high water hardness, you can add sodium tripolyphosphate to regulate the water quality before making slot compounding with this agent. The additive amount is 200g~500g tripolyphosphate for every 1000 Kg of water (i.e. 0.2‰~0.5‰). Do not use too much or put it in common use. It is only used in newly compounding slot.

4. If the working slot fluid get stunk or there is peculiar smell, it means that excessive organisms in the water. However surface conditioner still can be used. In the circumstances when river water or underground water is used, fungicide must be used to avoid the slot solution getting stunk.

5. If the working slot fluid gets yellow, it means that there is high iron content. Generally speaking, iron is brought in by workpieces after acid pickling. It may influence degree of uniformity of the film and the film-forming speed. It must be replaced according to the actual situation.

6. After continuous processing of the working slot fluid, the concentration and pH value will reduce. Concentration must be measured and gel titanium must be supplemented at regular period to keep the stipulated or needed concentration. In order to keep the optimum condition, it must be replaced once 2 weeks.

7. If pH value is still low after the gel titanium regulator is added, the solution is adding proper amount of sodium carbonate (sodium carbonate) to stabilize pH value of the regulator. The additive amount is 0.2~0.5 Kg of sodium carbonate for 2 Kg of gel titanium regulator. However do not use excessive amount or replace the use of gel titanium regulator.

8. Range of utilization prompted in utilization management refers to optimum concentration value indicator during utilization process. The standard concentration refers to standard parameter for calculation of Kg value of supplementary amount during utilization of initial value and making supplement.

9. The unused products must be sealed and stored in dry and ventilated places to prevent them from being damp. The storage life is 3 years.
